ABOUT POZIE BY NATALIE
Meet Natalie Ransom
The beginning. Although I call Bellingham and the Pacific Northwest home now, I grew up on my family's farm in Michigan's rural Upper Peninsula, also known as 'the U.P.' At heart, I'm still and always will be a die-hard 'Yooper.'
When I was very little, if I was sad or had been naughty, I would go hide in the baby's breath on our property. My dad, Chip, who is one of my biggest heroes, taught me how to grow, forage for, and arrange flowers around our farm while I was growing up. We used to make things together and sell them at the local farmers market on the weekends. So in some ways, I've been doing this work all my life.
I started working in the floral industry in Bellingham in YEAR and branched out on my own as Pozie by Natalie in YEAR. My business is really about bringing joy to the customer through nature. I meet the specific and unique needs of each person and occasion. I love the variety of my work for weddings, corporate and nonprofit events, memorable birthdays, precious new babies, a range of holidays, and fitting memorial events. I love that I get to be creative every day because each piece and event are one-of-a-kind.
Creativity in Every Piece. Because my work is also my joy, I make sure that my floral art is fresh and extraordinary. Whether it’s living jewelry, a bouquet, a centerpiece, arbor, or crown, I pour my imagination and inspiration into every striking creation for weddings, special occasions, business and charity events. I’m excited to create the look of your dreams. Above all, I strive to meet and exceed the needs of each customer.
I'm a huge fan of succulents and other plants so I also make custom terrariums, succulent jewelry and planter boxes too.
The best part of my work is that it is different every day: daily deliveries make people smile and large events like weddings and galas make a bold statement. I call my creations 'bespoke' because they're custom and unique to each customer and event.

My Commitment to
Sustainability & Community
I am committed to using local, sustainably grown products whenever possible. I’ve built strong relationships with local growers so that I can source a fantastic variety of flowers and plants from right here in Whatcom and Skagit County.
Giving back is also a priority for my business. I practice what I call floralanthropy. I support fellow business owners and bring joy to my social media followers through occasional Treasure Hunts. I post photos of my arrangements in local businesses on social media for my followers to find and take home for free. Each Treasure Hunt highlights a different local business and puts a beautiful creation in the home or office of one of my followers.
Mentoring fellow business owners is so important to me. I serve as a Bellingham Whatcom Chamber of Commerce Ambassador and am on the board of Whatcom Women in Business.
On occasion, I also donate centerpieces or arrangements for charity auctions and galas for local nonprofits that are doing great things for our community. You might have seen my work at a charity benefit for Boys & Girls Clubs of Whatcom County, the Alzheimer's Society of Washington, Lydia Place.
Awards & Honors
I am honored to have been voted 'Best Florist' in Bellingham Alive's Best of the Northwest for three years in a row (2016-2018). In 2017 I was humbled to be nominated by the Bellingham Whatcom Chamber of Commerce as Small Business of the Year and Chamber Ambassador of the Year. In that same year, Whatcom Young Professionals selected me as one of their Top 7 Under 40. In 2016 I received the Authentic Charm Award (yes it was totally made up) from the Chamber and the Rising Star Award from Whatcom Women in Business. My work won Best Booth at the 2015 Tulalip Wedding Show (with Rustic Event Rentals & Oohh La La). I continue to work hard to earn these honors and stay worthy every day.
I look forward to meeting you and learning more about the specific needs of your wedding, business or special occasion. Please do get in touch to schedule your free consultation<link> so that we can get to know each other better.
