ABOUT POZIE BY NATALIE
Meet Natalie Ransom
The beginning. Although I call Bellingham and the Pacific Northwest home now, I grew up on my family's farm in Michigan's rural Upper Peninsula, also known as 'the U.P.' At heart, I'm still and always will be a die-hard 'Yooper.'
My dad, Chip, who is one of my biggest heroes, taught me how to grow, forage for, and arrange flowers around our farm while I was growing up. We used to make things together and sell them at the local farmers market on the weekends. So in some ways, I've been doing this work all my life.
I started working in the floral industry in Bellingham before branching out on my own as Pozie by Natalie in 2015. My business is really about bringing joy to the customer through nature. I meet the specific and unique needs of each person and occasion. I love the variety of my work for weddings, corporate and nonprofit events, memorable birthdays, precious new babies, a range of holidays, and fitting memorial events. I love that I get to be creative every day because each piece and event are one-of-a-kind.
Creativity in Every Piece. Because my work is also my joy, I make sure that my floral art is fresh and extraordinary. Whether it’s living jewelry, a bouquet, a centerpiece, arbor, or crown, I pour my imagination and inspiration into every striking creation for weddings, special occasions, business and charity events. I’m excited to create the look of your dreams. Above all, I strive to meet and exceed the needs of each customer.
I'm a huge fan of succulents and other plants so I also make custom terrariums, succulent jewelry and planter boxes too.
The best part of my work is that it is different every day: daily deliveries make people smile and large events like weddings and galas make a bold statement. I call my creations 'bespoke' because they're custom and unique to each customer and event.
My Commitment to
Sustainability & Community
I am committed to using local, sustainably grown products whenever possible. I’ve built strong relationships with local growers so that I can source a fantastic variety of flowers and plants from right here in Whatcom and Skagit County.
Giving back is also a priority for my business. I practice what I call floralanthropy. I donate gift certificates, my time and flowers for fundraisers charity auctions and galas for local nonprofits that are doing great things for our community. You might have seen my work at a charity benefit for Boys & Girls Clubs of Whatcom County, The Alzheimer Society of Washington, Lydia Place, Whatcom Young Professionals, Whatcom Dispute Resolution Center, Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services of Whatcom County, Whatcom Women in Business, Blue Skies for Children, Women's Professional Network, Bellingham Regional Chamber Of Commerce, Sustainable Connections and more.
Serving my community is so important to me. I am an Ambassador for Bellingham Whatcom Chamber of Commerce and am on the board of Whatcom Women in Business and Blue Skies for Children. I am also a proud member of Women's Professional Network, Whatcom Business Alliance and Sustainable Connections.
I support fellow business owners and bring joy to my social media followers through occasional Treasure Hunts. I post photos of my arrangements in local businesses on social media for my followers to find and take home for free. Each Treasure Hunt highlights a different local business and puts a beautiful creation in the home or office of one of my followers.
